Custom Air Ride Suspension for a Mercedes-Benz 450SL

We undertook a bespoke suspension setup as part of a series of aesthetic upgrades on this classic SL.

As part of a wider set of aesthetic changes to this Mercedes-Benz 450SL, we installed a custom air ride suspension system. Bespoke brackets mount the dampers and airbags to the existing suspension points, while the setup was designed to work with the car’s existing exhaust system.

To complete the installation, we removed and reinstalled the fuel pump, filter and hoses. The compressor and air tank sit in the spare wheel well, and a bespoke holder keeps the controller neatly on the centre console

Whether you want your ride slammed or lifted, this setup lets the owner raise or lower the car at the push of a button, with custom height presets for added flexibility and a choice of stance.
